Timeline
Phase 1 – Podcaching - September 2010 - Ongoing
Community members scout, investigate, photograph and map as many areas they can find that have the potential to be something great for both people and nature. These are called PODS - Possible Opportunities for Design and are profiled on an online map, along with initial design ideas.
Phase 2 – PODzazzing – January to April 2011
The community gets the chance to generate unique ideas and inventions to help the distressed areas. They could come up with gadgets, demonstration projects, community art/science projects to name a few. The proposed projects will be voted on by the community and the successful projects are selected.
Phase 3 – Implementation - May to December 2011
The successful projects are implemented with the help of financial and professional support to ensure they are successful.
Phase 4 - Replication - January – March 2012
Based on lessons learned, an Urban-Suburban Stewardship Manual is created to encourage other Lake Simcoe communities to ReWild their vulnerable areas and create their own solutions and best practices
